It’s true that gaming often gets a bad wrap. Largely because there are many many people who literally waste time on video games. Part of what some researchers are saying that it’s possible that kids are getting better at multitasking, and getting smarter due to the requirements of video games. Gabe Zichermann has a really good talk on how video games effects children.

Every child needs a champion. Education systems need reforming. Children need hope and inspiration. Rita Piersen gave an inspiring talk about how children need champions on TED Talks. I am personally going to be launching a campaign to try and help to reform the educational system through my strengths (technology mainly). I know it’s not really tech related, but it is worth taking the time.
One of the reasons I started this site was to bring technological news and ideas I thought were applicable to peoples lives. TED Talks had a speaker that is really a thought provoker. The education systems all around the world need to be fixed. In Canada and the US traditional ways of teaching are proving relatively ineffective, given how many people still struggle to learn some ideas that are pretty basic.
The video that is being posted in this article talks about using technology to help create personalized lesson plan for kids. The technology would learn how each child learns, and what areas they need to improve to help each individual child learn to the best of their abilities. I think it’s great, and the video is definitely worth watching.
