It’s that time of the year where every website is doing wrap ups. Down to the last few hours of 2013, a look back seems warranted, even on a new site like uDream Digital. Looking back on the year, the technology scene did not change a whole lot in the last twelve months. We got a few new phones, but nothing amazing. The new generation of consoles game out, sold like hot cakes, but really didn’t bring anything to the table that blew anyones mind. Although the Kinect on the Xbox One is pretty damn cool.
It really was an unexciting year in tech. But that is too be expected after years of accelerated innovation, and invention. I don’t think that 2014 will be much different, the industry is really due for a lull in the performance department. I think that’s OK as people need some time to think of new and better ways to improve our lives through technology.
Google Glass was so so, and really who would want to wear them as they are? Even mighty Apple did not revolutionize anything this year, they took evolutionary steps forward on their products. This produced good new products, but they definitely did not change the tablet, phone, or personal computer market in the same way that they have in the past.
Expect another evolutionary year for the next twelve months, but be grateful for what the great engineers and visionaries have brought us so far!
